Wash with clean hands and unscented soap, pat dry, thin layer of ointment, twice a day for a week. That is the whole protocol, and saying it in that order stops people improvising.
Day three panic
Peeling is normal. Cloudiness is normal. Heat and spreading redness are not, and that is when they should call you.
Set the follow up
Ask for a healed photo at four weeks. It protects you, it teaches you, and it fills your portfolio with the only work that counts.
